Demolition and alteration works to existing classroom to create additional teaching areas and Senco care suite. All works have been completed and both we and the client are pleased with the final standard of the project.

We handed over on time and under their original budget. This was a complicated project, with a limited access on a live school. BEC’s management, utilising our clear work process, and a well thought out procurement structure backed up by synergistic communication styles we felt comfortable completing this difficult project.

Otford Church

BEC began works to the Otford Church, to erect a new church extension to the existing Church Hall.

The main construction consists of traditional foundations, precast flooring, and a steel frame. The roof finishes include a beautiful pitched roof, complete with zinc roofing, clay tiles, and several large panels of roof glazing, which can be opened internally.

External finishes will be facing brickwork and panels of render to finish the façades. Also include within the external walls are several window panelled areas with a specially procured stain glass window to the front elevation. This amazing piece of stainless work will put the finishing touches which we feel fully completes the design.

Internally the works include a new purpose built baptistery pool, featured on an elevated timber stage, finished with oak communion rail, designed with the exact requirements of the church, including stainless steel posts and holes to receive communion glasses. Electrically we installed a complete new Sound and Audio system throughout the extension, which can be manned from a single purpose built AV desk.

To finish the project of we’ve laid a new tarmac car park, with dedicated spaces for disabled parking and a cycle stand.

Canterbury Academy

New build 12 Classroom Teaching Block, refurbishment of 2 science labs, and new external car park and landscaping.

We have completed construction of the project the internal finishes and successfully handed this project over on time.

This project which we worked alongside Modus QS and OSG architects is being nominated for the south east category for Best Education build and Best Partnership.

St Andrews Vicarage

The construction of a 4 bedroom Vicarage, Raft foundation, block and beam floor, external facing brickwork and render with triple glazed windows and slate roof with landscaped grounds.

The project has almost now to a close, after completing the additional external works and a car park.

Maidstone Grammer School - Phase one of two performing arts block

Phase one consisted of the demolition of the existing Music and Performing Arts block and construction of a new one in its footprint.

It was a traditional build, comprising of a beam and block floor and brickwork façade.

The new facility provides state of the art music classrooms, drama and performance spaces as well as sound-proof practice rooms.
